Although July is almost over, it’s not too late to celebrate with some delicious and refreshing homemade lemon ice cream. This does not require cooking and is Grandma’s old recipe.
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 tsp. greater lemon peel
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 cup whole milk
1 cup half and half
Beat the eggs until thick. Add sugar gradually, beating until thick as custard.
Add the other ingredients. Mix well and pour into 8x11 inch pan.
Place in freezer. When frozen around the edges and slightly in the center, scrape into chilled bowl. Beat quickly with beater. Return to freezer until firm.
