Circuit Clerk Palazzolo Offers Convenient Passport Registration Day

In partnership with Sangamon Co. Circuit Clerk Paul Palazzolo's office, Illinois National Bank will offer a convenient passport registration day to the public. This service provides an easy way to obtain this important travel document.

Passport agents from the circuit clerk's office will be at INB to process passport applications from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 21 at INB's West Wabash Branch, 3150 W. Wabash Avenue in Springfield. Usual passport fees will apply. Current processing times are found at

Sarah Phalen, President and CEO of INB, points out it's difficult for some people – especially whole families -- to get to the circuit clerk's office during the week. "We're happy to help the community by extending the passport service into the weekend and into a location that could be a bit more convenient than downtown."

The Sangamon County Circuit Clerk's Office held an extremely successful passport event at the New Berlin's Warren-Boynton Bank on Saturday, April 23. Nearly 30 citizens took advantage of the "nearby" opportunity to get a new or renewal passport. Pictured are Sangamon County Circuit Clerk Paul Palazzolo with the Grossner Family.

Sangamon Co. Circuit Clerk Paul Palazzolo noted that this is a great way for his office to serve the public and make the passport application process easier for everyone. "We have worked hard to expand our services by offering passport photos now as well. For passports, the circuit clerk's office is as close to a one-stop shop as possible."

When applicants arrive at INB for a passport, they must bring the following items: A certified copy of their birth certificate, valid photo ID. approved passport photo, certified copies of court orders for the name change, custody or adoption decrees, and two checks or money orders to pay applicable fees

If residents have any questions, they may visit, or call the circuit clerk's passport office in advance at 217-747-5183.
