The Sangamon County Fair Board has announced plans to hold a complimentary Community Appreciation Event at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, at the Sangamon County Fairgrounds in New Berlin, extending a warm invitation to fair sponsors, volunteers and residents throughout the region.
The evening, intended as a gesture of gratitude to the many individuals, local businesses and families whose ongoing support helps sustain the annual Sangamon County Fair, will feature a variety of attractions designed to engage attendees of all ages.
Live entertainment will be provided beginning at 8 p.m. by Neon Rodeo, a band known for its energetic performances of 1990s country music, offering a lively backdrop to the night’s festivities. Guests are also invited to enjoy a complimentary taco and nacho bar while supplies last, with refreshments available for purchase throughout the event.
In addition to music and food, the fair board has arranged multiple opportunities to win cash and prizes, adding an element of excitement and community participation to the evening’s agenda.
Highlighting the event’s spirit of community service, organizers will host a food drive to benefit local food pantries. Attendees who bring nonperishable food donations will be eligible for entry into a special giveaway, with additional prize drawings planned at intervals during the event.
“This event is about celebrating the people who make our fair possible,” said Roy Pierceall, president of the fair board. “We are proud to be part of such a supportive community and look forward to a great night together.”
