Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a theft and the unlawful use of credit cards in Springfield.
According to the Springfield Police Department, officers received a report on February 7, 2025, regarding a stolen wallet. The victim’s credit cards were later used at multiple businesses across the city, racking up more than $7,000 in fraudulent purchases.
The suspect, described as a Black female, was last seen wearing a black beanie cap and a large black puffy coat. Images of the individual can be found on the Crime Stoppers website, cashfortips.us.
Authorities encourage anyone with information about the suspect to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously by calling 217-788-8427, submitting a tip online, or using the P3 app. Tips leading to an arrest could result in a cash reward of up to $2,500.
