Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a theft at Immaculate Conception Church, located at 524 E. Lawrence Avenue in Springfield.
According to the Springfield Police Department, the theft occurred on March 18, 2025, between 3 and 4 a.m. During that time, an unknown individual stole four copper caps ranging in length from 3 to 8 feet. The caps, estimated to be around 50 years old, are valued at a total of $10,000.
The suspect appears to be a white male and was last seen wearing a black and white camouflage vest over a black hoodie.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously by calling 217-788-8427, submitting a tip online, or using the P3 app. Tips that lead to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,500.
