The Chatham Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in solving a string of catalytic converter thefts that occurred between March 12th and April 27th. The thefts resulted in a total loss of $4,000.
According to Crime Stoppers, three of the thefts occurred at Iron Gate Storage on Mansion Rd, while the other three incidents happened in the driveways of victims in the 100 block of S College, the 400 Block of E Chestnut, and the 800 Block of N Park.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward, and have promised anonymity to anyone who provides a tip. If photos of the suspects or vehicles involved become available, they will be posted on the Crime Stoppers website, cashfortips.us.
Anyone who can identify a suspect or suspects, or has any information on the vehicles involved, is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 217-788-8427, submit a tip on the website, or use the P3 mobile app. A cash reward of up to $2500 will be given to anyone whose tip leads to an arrest.
