Find Your Furever Friend at Sangamon County Animal Control

Members of Cedarhurst Senior Living Facility recently visited the Sangamon County Animal Control facilities, touring the kennels and spending time with the dogs. They even brought homemade treats for the pups to enjoy. The dogs were overjoyed to have someone to play with and eagerly greeted their visitors with wagging tails and happy barks. While the visit was a fun way for the seniors to spend time with the animals, it also highlighted the importance of pet adoption.

Pet adoption provides an opportunity for animals to find loving homes, while also offering a wide range of benefits to their new owners. Studies have shown that pet ownership can help reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and increase feelings of happiness and well-being. In addition, adopting a pet from a shelter can be a rewarding experience as it helps reduce the number of homeless animals and gives them a second chance at life.

If you're interested in adopting a forever friend of your own, Sangamon County Animal Control makes it easy. Adoption hours are from Monday to Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., and Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Adoption time ends 15 minutes prior to closing.
