Free Digital Literacy Classes for Older Adults

Lincoln Land Community College has partnered with AT&T to offer free digital literacy training classes throughout 2024 to help bridge the technological divide for older adults. A series of seven initial courses is available this spring.

“The world has been moving toward more digital services and access, which has left many older adults feeling isolated, frustrated and socially excluded,” said Dr. Laurel Bretz, assistant vice president, continuing, corporate and professional education at LLCC.

Spring courses include Computer Basics (Windows 10), Cybersecurity Basics, Email Basics, Internet Basics, Mobile Devices-Android, Mobile Devices-iPhone and Video Conferencing. Individuals may sign up for one or all courses in the series.

Classes will be held at LLCC’s downtown Springfield center, LLCC-Medical District, 130 W. Mason St. The facility has a dedicated, free parking lot across from the entrance.
