Free training sessions focused on trauma-informed care are being offered to individuals working in community-based organizations, healthcare, education, or with vulnerable populations.

An in-person session will take place on Wednesday, June 11, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lincoln Library, located at 326 S. 7th St. in Springfield. The training will cover the impact of trauma, approaches to compassionate care, and strategies for self-care. Continuing education credits are available for participants.

According to Galia Cossyleon, a community health consultant with Memorial Health, the training is designed to provide practical tools for working in a trauma-informed manner and to support improved outcomes and engagement.

In addition to the in-person event, two virtual training sessions are scheduled for June 3 and August 12.
