Over 200 volunteers from the Sangamon County Republican Party and local Labor Unions joined forces today, going door to door, talking with voters on behalf of mayoral candidate Misty Buscher.
Buscher, the Springfield City Treasurer since 2015, has made job creation and economic growth a central part of her platform - Earning the endorsement from 15 Labor Unions, the Sangamon County Republican Party, and countless community leaders, including Former Mayor Karen Hasara, Sheriff Jack Campbell, and Former Senator Larry Bomke.
"The turnout today was fantastic," said Dianne Barghouti Hardwick, Chairwoman of the Sangamon County Republican Party. "We're all here because we believe in Misty Buscher's vision for Springfield, and we want to do everything we can to make sure she's elected."

During her tenure as City Treasurer, Buscher championed fiscal responsibility, transparency, and accountability. And Buscher worked to streamline city finances and implemented new technologies to ensure that taxpayer dollars were spent wisely.
"Our city needs new leadership that can bring fresh ideas and innovative solutions to the challenges we face," Buscher said. "I'm honored to have the support from so many organizations and thrilled to see this many dedicated volunteers out here today."
Volunteers distributed literature and answered questions about Buscher's plans for the city. With just a few weeks until the election, Buscher and her supporters are working hard to get the word out and encourage voters to cast their ballots.
