Leonard Appointed Township Trustee

Capital Township Supervisor Joe Aiello named Ken Leonard to serve the remainder of the term left vacant by the retirement of former Trustee Rich Berning. Capital Township Trustees approved Leonard by a unanimous vote.

Leonard, a Capital Township resident for over 30 years, is well known throughout the community as the varsity football coach at Sacred Heart-Griffin, where he has mentored many students and given back to all parts of our community.

Capital Township Supervisor Joe Aiello said, "Ken Leonard is a lifelong educator and coach who has mentored students in and out of the classroom. Ken's passion for service work will be an asset to our board and community. We will miss Rich Berning's in-depth knowledge of Capital Township, but I believe Ken will pick up the torch and serve our community with energy and passion."

Leonard's appointment is effective immediately; the current term expires in April 2025.
