Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) is gearing up to host its annual Workforce Careers and Ag Expos on Thursday, Sept. 21. The college extends an invitation to employers and high school students from the area to participate in these events.
The Workforce Careers Expo promises an engaging outdoor experience, connecting local high school students with employers from various skilled trades. Divided into two sessions from 8-11 a.m. and noon-3 p.m., students will have the chance to explore potential career paths while witnessing the skills of professional line workers at the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives Line Workers Safety Rodeo. Last year's Expo saw a massive turnout of 500 high school students, interacting with interactive equipment and simulators from 50 participating employers.
Simultaneously, the Ag Expo, set to commence at 9 a.m. in LLCC's Kreher Agriculture Center, will offer students insights into the world of agriculture. Led by LLCC's esteemed ag faculty, attendees will receive valuable knowledge, tour the facility, and engage with current ag students.
