National Mario Day

On March 10th, the world is donning its red caps and embracing nostalgia as it celebrates World Mario Day, an annual event dedicated to the iconic video game character Mario. Originating from the play on words "Mar10," which resembles "Mario," the day is a celebrated occasion for gamers worldwide.

Created by Shigeru Miyamoto for Nintendo, Mario first appeared in 1981's Donkey Kong as "Jumpman." Renamed Mario, he starred in 1985's "Super Mario Bros.," revolutionizing gaming. His success spawned numerous sequels, spin-offs, and adaptations, making Mario one of the most recognizable and enduring characters in video game history.

In commemoration, gaming communities, enthusiasts, and companies are organizing various events and promotions. Nintendo, the creator of Mario, is offering discounts on Mario-themed games and merchandise across its platforms.
