National Peanut Butter Day

Finally! A National Day on the calendar that we can all love and enjoy!

This coming Wednesday, January 24, is National Peanut Butter Day! Don’t worry about the weather that day because it’s a good bet that we all have some in our cupboard, just waiting for that knife to dig in.

No matter that it is smooth, chunky, eaten with jelly, chocolate, or many other toppings- all delicious. Moms and Dads can like it because not only does it taste so good, it is a good source of vitamin E, B6, niacin, calcium, potassium, and iron, and it is packed with protein and is rich in healthy monounsaturated fat!

Peanut butter was first made by the Aztecs around 1,000 BC, but it didn’t become widely used until the 20th  century. It was introduced to audiences at the 1904 Universal Exposition in St. Louis.

So on Wednesday( or any day) be sure to fix a sandwich or even make cookies with your favorite peanut butter and enjoy!
