Springfield will once again observe the solemn anniversary of September 11 with the Ride to Remember 9-11 Memorial Parade and Ceremony this Sunday, September 14, 2025, marking the 24th year since the tragic events of 2001.
Participants will gather at Hall’s Harley-Davidson on North Dirksen Parkway starting at 9:00 a.m., followed by a brief commemorative ceremony. At approximately 10:45 a.m., a procession—escorted by emergency vehicles and joined by motorcycles, car and Jeep clubs—will wind through Springfield to conclude at the Illinois State Capitol grounds, where the 9/11 Monument stands alongside the Police and Firefighters Memorials.
The event, long held with community devotion, pays tribute to the lives lost on 9/11 and honors the enduring bravery of first responders. Over the years, funding and support for the monument were fostered by participants and supporters of this annual tradition. This year’s proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army and the 100 Club of Illinois, with commemorative t-shirts available at the dealership and monetary donations gratefully accepted.
