Property Tax Payment Deadline Approaches

Sangamon County taxpayers are reminded that the final deadline for property tax payments is September 6th.

With the Treasurer’s office temporarily relocated to Room 303 on the 3rd floor of the County Building due to renovations, residents are encouraged to use “Easy-Payment” options to avoid construction and parking challenges. Free e-check payments can be made at tax.sangamonil.gov, or payments can be mailed to Sangamon County Treasurer, PO Box 19400, Springfield, IL 62794-9400.

For those opting to pay in person, payments can be made at any INB lobby or drive-thru facility in Sangamon County. If visiting the County Building, be prepared for construction challenges, security screening, and an elevator ride to the third floor.

Credit and debit card payments can be processed via the Illinois E-pay website linked from the Treasurer’s homepage or by calling 888-834-3729. Note that card payments are subject to convenience fees.
