Rep. Hamilton Honors Local Realtor & Volunteer – Ronald Ladley

State Representative Sandy Hamilton (R-Springfield) sponsored legislation to honor the lifetime accomplishments, volunteerism, and community service of Springfield resident Ronald Ladley who passed away in January. House Resolution 669 was passed today in the Illinois House of Representatives

“Ron Ladley loved Springfield and Illinois and showed it through his work in real estate, community service, and his impact on public policy, namely his work to help pass legislation to provide health benefits to our state workers,” said Rep. Sandy Hamilton. “Ron Ladley set a great example as someone who dedicated his time and talents to support not only the growth of our community but he supported many of the civic organizations that help others and make central Illinois a wonderful place to call home.”

Ronald Ladley graduated from Illinois College with a degree in business, history and education. His career in real estate and helping others start their own careers in real estate can be felt all around Springfield. Ladley was the former Supervisor of Research Studies for the Illinois State Superintendent of Public Instruction and previously served as an analyst of Schools for the Illinois Department of Education, and was the executive secretary of the Illinois State Employees Association during the time of Governor Richard B. Olgilvie’s administration.

The vast contributions Ron Ladley made through many civic groups included his service with the Springfield Association for Retarded Citizens (SPARC), United Cerebral Palsy (UCP), the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), the Springfield Jaycees, Rotary Club of Springfield, the Ansar Shriners, and the American Red Cross. He also served as chairman of the Illinois Historic Sites Commission, the Sangamon County Historical Society, and the Springfield Historic Sites Commission. Additionally, Mr. Ladley spent much of his life volunteering on behalf of the Sangamon County Republican Central Committee as well as the state and national GOP.

“This opportunity to honor Ron Ladley is also personal for me as a real estate broker who knew Ron,” added Rep. Hamilton. “We need more people like Ronald Ladley in the world.”
