Sangamon County successfully purchased the former State Journal-Register building through an online auction that concluded this afternoon. Located directly south of the Sangamon County Complex, the purchase of this building will provide significant cost savings to taxpayers for ongoing and planned projects involving the Sheriff's Office, Coroner's Office, and Sangamon Menard Area Regional Transit.
