The Sangamon County Sheriff's office, in partnership with the Illinois Sheriff's Association, announced a $58,000 statewide college scholarships program for students wishing to pursue higher education during the 2023-2024 academic year.
Sangamon County Sheriff Jack Campbell will be awarding three $500 scholarships. The Association's goal is to assist worthy students in furthering their education and training. The scholarship funds will be paid directly to the school on behalf of the recipient with the instructions that 1/2 is to be credited to the fall semester and 1/2 to the spring semester.
Limitations to apply include; Applications must be permanent Illinois residents; Scholarships must be utilized at institutions of higher learning within the State of Illinois; Students must be enrolled as full-time students during the 2023-2024 school year (excluding summer session).
Applications are now available at the Sangamon County Sheriff's Office or on the ISA Website (www.ilsheriff.org). Students must complete the application, answer the essay question, and return all documentation to the Sheriff's Office by March 15, 2023.
