The Sangamon County Sheriff's Office has unveiled plans for a comprehensive traffic enforcement campaign targeting impaired and unbuckled drivers. Running from June 16 through the early-morning hours of July 5, this initiative aims to cover the three summer weekends leading up to Independence Day.

Sheriff Jack Campbell emphasized the importance of responsible driving, stating, "If you're driving, don't drink, use marijuana, or other drugs. Our officers will be tirelessly working around the clock to ensure impaired drivers are kept off the roads, and all traffic laws are enforced. We're committed to saving lives."

The Sangamon County Sheriff's Office will collaborate with the Illinois State Police and over 200 local police and sheriff's departments in this concerted statewide effort.
