Sheriff's Office Launches New Website for Sonya Massey Information

In response to the tragic death of Sonya Massey and subsequent media and community inquiries, the Sangamon County Sheriff's Office has launched a new website dedicated to providing comprehensive information about the incident and the ongoing investigation. The website can be accessed at SangamonIL.GOV/Sonyamassey.
Officials say the new web page was created to address public and media questions regarding the shooting involving former Deputy Sean Grayson. It includes responses to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, as well as documents, recordings, videos, and written responses to media inquiries related to Sonya Massey's death.
"The Sangamon County Sheriff's Office is committed to seeking truth and justice in the wake of Sonya Massey's tragic death. To ensure transparency, we have launched a new website where documents, recordings, videos, and written media responses related to the investigation will be posted. This platform is designed for news outlets and individuals seeking information, providing the ability to read documents in their entirety. Our goal is to maintain open communication and trust with the community by making information readily accessible," the Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
The website provides the public with direct access to relevant information about the case. The contents include Applications, References, Reviews, Training and Health Reports, and Background Checks.
The website will continue to be updated with additional files as they are reviewed and approved for release. Sheriff Jack Campbell expressed his determination to release all relevant information, emphasizing the commitment to transparency and accountability.
