The Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office has launched a school supply drive to benefit students and teachers at Laketown Elementary School, with donations being accepted through August 15, 2025. The initiative, organized by Sheriff Paula Crouch and her team, is aimed at ensuring local children have the essential supplies they need to begin the school year prepared and confident.

Community members are encouraged to participate by dropping off supplies Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., at the Sangamon County Courthouse Lobby located at 200 South 9th Street in Springfield.

“This is a simple way we can come together and support our community,” said Sheriff Paula Crouch. “Every donation, big or small, helps show our students and teachers that we’re behind them and want them to have a great school year. When we invest in our children, we invest in the future of our community.”

The Sheriff’s Office is requesting donations of new, unopened school supplies such as pencils, erasers, crayons, glue sticks, notebooks, folders, and highlighters—basic tools that can make a big difference in the classroom.

Anyone with questions or who is interested in making a bulk donation is encouraged to contact the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office at (217) 753-6855.
