SPD Investigating Forgery, Theft at First Bankers Trust

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman involved in a forgery and theft case currently under investigation by the Springfield Police Department.


According to police, on June 26, 2025, an unidentified white female entered First Bankers Trust at 2201 Wabash Ave. in Springfield. The suspect posed as a customer using a fraudulent passport that featured her photo but contained another person’s personal information. She then withdrew more than $7,000 from the victim’s account.


Authorities have released images of the suspect, which can be viewed at cashfortips.us.


Anyone with information about this incident or who can identify the individual is urged to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously by calling 217-788-8427, visiting the website, or using the P3 mobile app. Tips that lead to an arrest could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,500.
