On Friday, 22-year-old Dylan T. Rensner was arrested in connection with the Regions Bank robbery that took place on April 12, 2023. Rensner was taken into custody without incident in Terre Haute, Indiana, where he was found with the help of Flock license plate readers and the Illinois State Police Statewide Terrorism Intelligence Center (STIC).

Following the robbery, Springfield Police Detectives received tips from members of the community, which led to the identification of Rensner as a possible suspect. The detectives then utilized Flock license plate readers to track Rensner's movements, leading them to Terre Haute.
