Springfield Man Arrested on Multiple Firearms Charges

Springfield police arrested a man early Saturday morning following reports of gunfire on the city’s south side.
At approximately 12:13 a.m. on August 23, officers responded to the 2500 block of South 9th Street for a report of a person with a gun. Moments before their arrival, the department’s Shot Spotter system also detected several rounds fired in the same area.
After investigating, officers developed probable cause to seek a search warrant for a nearby residence. The warrant was later executed by the Springfield Police Department’s Emergency Response Team.

Inside, police located 45-year-old Aumaurionne Flowers, along with two firearms. Flowers was arrested and booked on multiple charges, including Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Firearm Without a FOID Card.
