Springfield Man Arrested with Over 600 Grams of Cocaine

On March 12, 2024, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Springfield Police Department Pro-Active Crime Unit conducted a search warrant in the 1100 block of N. Wheeler Avenue. Prior to the warrant being served, the officers were able to locate the suspect, who had been identified as Octavion T. Williams, 25, of Springfield, and take him into custody. When Williams was taken into custody, officers located approximately 5.61 grams of crack cocaine on his person.


During a search of the residence, officers recovered a total amount of 669.24 grams of cocaine, $13,848, along with 2 digital scales. The street value of the cocaine that was recovered is estimated at $34,000. Williams who was currently out on bond was transported to the Sangamon County Jail pending formal charges by the Sangamon County States Attorney’s Office.





Williams was arrested for the manufacture and delivery of 400-900 grams of cocaine, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 500 feet of a church, manufacture, and delivery of a controlled substance within 500 feet of a school, and possession of 400-900 grams of cocaine.
