Springfield Memorial Hospital Ranked Among Best in Illinois

Springfield Memorial Hospital has been named one of the top hospitals in Illinois, according to new statewide rankings released by U.S. News & World Report.
The publication evaluated 213 hospitals across Illinois and placed Springfield Memorial Hospital (SMH) at No. 21. SMH also earned high-performing marks in nine specialty treatment areas:
Cancer: Leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma
Cardiology, heart and vascular surgery: Abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
Gastroenterology and GI surgery: Colon cancer surgery
Neurology and neurosurgery: Back surgery (spinal fusion)
Obstetrics and gynecology: Gynecological cancer surgery
Orthopedics: Back surgery (spinal fusion), hip replacement, knee replacement
Pulmonology and lung surgery: Lung cancer surgery
Urology: Prostate cancer surgery
“We’re pleased that U.S. News & World Report continues to recognize SMH for high-quality overall care, as well as outstanding performance in the areas where we excel,” said SMH president and CEO Jay Roszhart.
Another Memorial Health facility, Decatur Memorial Hospital, was also honored for high performance in treating leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, along with knee replacement procedures.
