On March 21, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Springfield Police Department Pro-Active Crime Unit conducted a search warrant at 63 Drawbridge. The warrant was served as the result of an investigation involving William T. Blair, 44, of Springfield. Blair was stopped in a vehicle prior to the warrant being served. He was taken into custody without incident.
Upon completion of the search warrant, officers had located approximately 787 grams of cocaine, 296 grams of fentanyl, a Smith and Wesson M&P firearm, digital scales and packaging indicative of drug sales, and $6,915. The combined estimated street value of the narcotics is $53,800.
Blair was arrested for armed habitual criminal, armed violence, manufacture delivery of cocaine 100-400 grams, manufacture delivery of a controlled substance, manufacture delivery of a controlled substance within 500 ft. of a school, and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. Blair was transported to the Sangamon County Jail pending formal charges by the Sangamon County State's Attorney’s Office.
