State Fair Introduces Double the Fun Promotion

The Illinois State Fair has announced a new promotion for the 2023 event. Fairgoers who pay for parking on Thursday, August 10, known as County Fairs and Horse Racing Day, will receive a voucher for free parking on either Tuesday, August 15, Wednesday, August 16, or Thursday, August 17.

The fairgrounds will offer various attractions on August 10, including the official ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 am, carnival rides opening at noon, livestock shows, and food vendors. Additional activities scheduled for the day include Grandstand Entertainment featuring harness racing, the Twilight Parade on Main Street, live performances by Cooper Alan on the Grand Central Stage, and the Grand Re-Opening of the Multi-Purpose Arena showcasing "Monsters of Destruction."

The voucher allows visitors to return on any of the three designated days, offering savings on "Twosday" (Tuesday, August 15). On this day, adult and senior admission costs $2, and all rides by North American Midway Entertainment (NAME) are priced at $2. Mega Passes and Jumbo Passes sold before and during the fair will be honored.

The Double the Fun promotion extends to the Grandstand concerts featuring REO Speedwagon, Alter Bridge, and Tim McGraw. Tickets for these shows can be purchased online or at the Illinois State Fair Box Office.
