A sweet treat can make a big difference on July 31, as Dairy Queen locations across Springfield participate in Miracle Treat Day to benefit HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital.

For every Blizzard treat sold at participating DQ locations that day, $1 or more will be donated to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which includes HSHS St. John’s — the only children’s hospital in Springfield. The hospital hopes to raise more than $8,900 through this year’s event.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have a children’s hospital in Springfield offering such services as the area’s only Level III neonatal intensive care unit for our tiniest patients and a pediatric intensive care unit,” said Mary Rogers, Program Manager for the Children’s Miracle Network at HSHS St. John’s. “On July 31, everyone can support our life-saving treatment that gets kids back to being kids by enjoying a Blizzard treat.”

Miracle Treat Day has raised more than $185 million over the past 41 years for the 170 CMN member hospitals across the U.S. and Canada.

Springfield’s participating Dairy Queen locations include:

  • 1663 North Grand Ave. E.

  • 1742 Wabash Ave.

  • 3121 E. Atlanta St.
