UIS Graduate Programs Rank in Top 25%

The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) has recently received recognition for the quality of its graduate programs in public affairs and business administration. The 2023-2024 U.S. News Best Graduate Programs rankings have placed UIS' public affairs graduate degrees within the top 25 percent of the best programs nationwide. Out of 269 programs that were reviewed, UIS' public affairs graduate programs were ranked 67th, a testament to the high standard of teaching and research provided by the institution's faculty.

Robert Smith, the Dean of the UIS College of Public Affairs and Education, expressed pride in the rankings, saying that they highlight the university's contributions to public service, not just within Springfield and Illinois, but nationwide. The U.S. News rankings of public affairs programs were based on peer assessments of UIS' master's degrees in public administration and public policy. In fall 2022 and early 2023, U.S. News surveyed deans, directors, and department chairs representing 269 master's programs in public affairs and administration.

The UIS College of Public Affairs and Education also offers graduate public affairs degrees in human services, legal studies, political science, public affairs reporting, and public policy.

In addition to the recognition for its public affairs graduate programs, UIS was also ranked in the best part-time MBA category, coming in at 184 out of 299 programs nationwide. The part-time MBA programs at UIS are designed to meet the needs of working adults, with a combination of eight-week sessions, built-in certificates in over 10 subject areas, and a dedicated cadre of faculty and staff.

The Best Graduate Schools rankings are designed for prospective students looking to further their education beyond college. The full rankings and additional information can be found on the U.S. News website.
