The University of Illinois Springfield will host a gun violence prevention panel as part of the Project S.A.V.E. (Safety and Violence Education) Program Series. The panel will take place on Monday, April 17th at 7pm in the Student Union North Ballroom.
The panel features prominent figures from the safety and security fields, including Vladimir Talley, the Safety and Security Administrator for District 61 schools, Kenny Winslow, the Executive Director of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, Rep. Emanuel Chris Welch, the Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives, and Jack Campbell, the Sangamon County Sheriff.
The event will begin with an informational video, followed by discussions on gun violence and gun violence prevention. The panelists will share their respective expertise on the topic and engage in discussion with the audience about the current state of gun violence prevention in the community.
The panel is hosted by Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. (Mu Eta Chapter), and is open to the public.
