The Springfield Urban League will hold a Community Resource Day on Saturday, June 21, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at its Workforce Center, located at 512 S. 11th Street. The event is free and open to the public.

Community Resource Day will include hands-on career navigation support, information on job readiness programs, and access to employment opportunities. Organizers say the event is designed to serve individuals at various stages of their professional lives.

“This is more than a job fair—it’s a launchpad,” said Jonathan Barnett, Director of the Springfield Urban League. “We’re creating a space where individuals and families can take the next step toward a more stable and fulfilling future. Our goal is to meet people where they are, and help them move forward.”

In addition to employment resources, the event will feature food, games, and children’s activities.

The event is being coordinated by Tives Gardner, a Juvenile Redeploy Caseworker with the Urban League.

“We designed this day to remove barriers and build bridges,” Gardner said. “When people see what's possible—when they feel supported and celebrated—transformation begins. This event is about planting those seeds and providing a safe comfortable space for families to have fun as well.”
