Sangamon County Clerk Don Gray announced today that the Vital Records division of his office would be closed to the public Wednesday, December 14 through Friday, December 16 to accommodate the office relocation to Sangamon South (the old State Journal-Register building).
Construction will soon be beginning on the south side of the County Building, requiring the move of the Vital Records, Capital Township, and Election offices across the street to the Sangamon South building. The Vital Records office will be closed from Wednesday, December 14, through Friday, December 16, and will reopen in the Sangamon South Building between Monroe and Capitol on December 19th. Office hours are 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
The Vital Records office issues birth, death, marriage, and civil union records and provides a number of other services to the public, including notaries, DBAs, delinquent tax payments, and mobile home registrations.
