The Springfield YMCA recently announced the opening of its Friendly Fields Soccer Complex, made possible through a generous donation from Friendly Chevrolet. Located at the Kerasotes YMCA, 4550 W Iles in Springfield, the complex boasts 11 soccer fields, a snack stand, sidewalks, and ample parking. The complex will accommodate both Spring and Fall youth soccer leagues, as well as some adult programs.
Prior to the opening of the Friendly Fields Soccer Complex, the YMCA had leased fields for its programs. With this new facility, the YMCA can provide an even better experience for local youth soccer players.
Susan Langheim, owner of Friendly Chevrolet, expressed her excitement to support the YMCA's long-standing commitment to youth soccer in the community. She said, "Friendly Fields will offer a space where children can develop physical skills, learn teamwork, make friends, and have fun! I believe every child deserves an opportunity."
The YMCA of Springfield has provided opportunities for individuals of all walks of life since 1882. Its programs focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, and it serves men and women, boys and girls of all ages, religions, and economic backgrounds
