2.5lbs of Cannabis, Cocaine, and Stolen Firearm Seized in Springfield

Officers with the Springfield Police Department Street Crimes Unit along with detectives served a narcotics search warrant in the 2400 block of South Lowell Avenue. As officers entered the residence they located Mohamed I. Elsayed (male 18, of Springfield) who was taken into custody without incident.


During the search of the residence officers located 1120.69 grams of cannabis, cocaine, ecstasy pills, $7,190.00 in U.S. currency, and a stolen 9mm Springfield XD firearm.

Elsayed was arrested for manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a stolen firearm, methamphetamine delivery, delivery of cannabis over 500 grams, and possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card.

Elsayed was transported to the Sangamon County Jail where he awaits formal charges from the Sangamon County States Attorneys Office.
