July 30th is National Cheesecake Day, and what better way to celebrate than with a homemade cheesecake that’s as rich and creamy as it is simple to make? Whether you prefer it plain or with a topping of fresh fruit, cheesecake is a crowd-pleasing dessert that never goes out of style.
Easy Cheesecake Recipe
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
¼ cup sugar
6 tablespoons butter, melted
3 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 large eggs
1 cup sour cream
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325°F.
In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Press mixture into the bottom of a greased 9-inch springform pan to form the crust. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from oven and set aside.
In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Pour the mixture into the prepared crust.
Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the center is set. Let the cheesecake cool in the pan, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
Before serving, top with your favorite fruit topping.
