Authorities Investigate $20,000 Theft at Local Game Store

The Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects involved in a burglary at 217 Comics and Games in Springfield.
According to investigators, the incident occurred on December 4, 2025, at approximately 4:55 a.m., when two male suspects forced entry into the business, located at 1820 Stevenson Drive. The pair allegedly stole roughly $20,000 worth of sports cards before fleeing the scene.
Sheriff Paula Crouch urged anyone with information to come forward. “This crime has a real impact on a small business,” Crouch said. “If you recognize these individuals or know anything that could help identify them, please reach out. Your information can help bring justice.”
