Bored Teachers Comedy Tour Adds Springfield Stop

Teachers looking for a night of humor may find it in the Bored Teachers: “Is It Friday Yet?” Comedy Tour, which is continuing into fall 2026 with an expanded schedule.

After launching Jan. 15, 2026, the tour has grown to include more than 90 cities across the United States, Asia and Canada. Organizers recently announced a new fall leg featuring 38 additional dates scheduled from September through December.

The tour will include a stop at the UIS Performing Arts Center in Springfield on Nov. 15.

The show features new material focused on classroom experiences, with jokes centered on school life, students, parents and the day-to-day challenges of teaching. While designed with educators in mind, organizers say the performance is intended to be relatable to anyone familiar with classroom settings.

Tickets are currently available through UISpac.com, with prices ranging from $29.75 to $84.75.

Since launching in 2022, the Bored Teachers Comedy Tour has performed in theaters across nearly every U.S. state and multiple Canadian provinces, later expanding internationally to the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. According to organizers, the tour has reached more than 200,000 teachers worldwide.

The group behind the tour has also built a large online following, with more than 1 billion video views and over 10 million followers across platforms, along with a teacher-focused comedy podcast.

“Teachers spend their lives giving everything they have for their students,” said one Bored Teachers comedian. “This tour is about giving something back—an unforgettable night of laughter and connection. Judging by the response, it’s exactly what teachers need right now.”

Audience members have described the show as a needed break during the school year, with one teacher calling it “the night out we needed to make it through the school year.”

Bored Teachers was founded by former teachers James and Marilou Tarantino as a social media community centered on humor in education. It has since grown into a company producing live tours, digital content and other media focused on the realities of teaching.
