Charlie Berens to Bring ‘The Lost & Found Tour’ to Springfield
Comedian, author and musician Charlie Berens will bring his “The Lost & Found Tour” to the UIS Performing Arts Center in Springfield on Sunday, February 7, 2027, as part of an expanded North American tour.
Berens recently announced 31 additional dates for the tour, which follows the success of his previous “Good Old Fashioned Tour.” That tour included 127 performances in 88 cities and was recorded for his latest stand-up comedy special, “Neighborly,” a follow-up to his 2023 special, “Midwest Goodbye.”
A comedian, New York Times bestselling author, Emmy Award-winning journalist and musician, Berens is widely known for creating “The Manitowoc Minute,” a viral comedy series that focuses on Midwestern culture, news and everyday life. His work has attracted more than 12 million followers and generated more than 3 billion views across his social media platforms.
Berens has completed three sold-out nationwide stand-up comedy tours, while his bestselling book, “The Midwest Survival Guide,” has been optioned for television development. His comedy frequently draws on his Wisconsin upbringing and experiences in the Midwest, with material that has attracted audiences throughout the country.
In addition to his stand-up performances, Berens co-hosts the “Bellied Up” podcast with fellow comedian Myles Montplaisir, known as “Myles The You Betcha Guy.” The weekly podcast features the two comedians recording from small-town bars, taking live calls from listeners across the Midwest and beyond.
Berens also hosts “The Cripescast,” a podcast featuring conversations with guests from a variety of backgrounds. Previous guests have included musicians, comedians, dairy farmers, scientists, government officials, chefs, artists, business leaders, professional athletes, explorers and Olympians. The discussions focus on guests' personal experiences and their connections to the Midwest.
His career has also included accomplishments in music and journalism. In 2020, his music and comedy album, “Unthawed,” reached No. 1 on Billboard's Bluegrass Albums chart. He previously received an Emmy Award in 2013 for his journalism piece, “The Cost of Water,” while working at KDAF in Dallas.
Outside of his entertainment career, Berens has supported charitable organizations, including serving as an ambassador for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin for three years. He has also entered the spirits industry with the launch of Berens Old Fashioned Brandy, which is available in stores throughout Wisconsin.
The Springfield performance will be held at the UIS Performing Arts Center on the campus of the University of Illinois Springfield.
