Bustos to Join UIS Chancellor for Leadership Ciscussion

UIS Chancellor Janet L. Gooch will host a conversation with former Congresswoman and alum Cheri Callahan Bustos as part of the Chancellor’s Thinkers Series, titled “A Call to Think: Authentic Leadership.”

The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. April 7 at the Student Union Ballroom, 2251 Richard Wright Drive. A reception with heavy refreshments will follow, and visitor parking will be available in Lot J.

The discussion will focus on authentic leadership, including leading with purpose, building trust and influence, and the role authenticity plays in today’s leadership landscape. Bustos will draw on her experience in public service, journalism and community advocacy.

The program will feature a conversation between Gooch and Bustos from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., followed by an audience question-and-answer session from 6:15 to 7 p.m. Closing reflections will take place from 7 to 7:15 p.m.

The Chancellor’s Thinkers Series is designed to inspire diverse perspectives and encourage intentional thinking through dialogue with featured guests.
