September 7th is Beer Lovers Day, an occasion to honor the rich history and growing popularity of craft beer. Over the past two decades, craft beer has experienced a significant rise in popularity, with breweries multiplying across the United States. Craft beer now accounts for nearly 25% of the beer market, as people increasingly seek unique, locally-made brews that emphasize quality and creativity.

In Springfield and surrounding areas, craft beer enthusiasts have several great options to explore. Obed & Isaac's Microbrewery and Eatery, located downtown, combines handcrafted beer with delicious pub-style food in a historic setting. Nearby, Buzz Bomb Brewing Co. is celebrated for its creative beer flavors and a lively atmosphere with frequent events. In Chatham, Sangamo Brewing provides a laid-back environment with locally brewed favorites and a welcoming outdoor patio.

The rise of craft breweries has brought more than just great beer to communities; it’s created gathering places where people can connect and support local businesses. This Beer Lovers Day, celebrate by trying a new brew, visiting a local brewery, or learning more about the art of beer making.
