Coroner Confirms Death of Park District Employee

A Springfield Park District employee who died Thursday March 26th after being found under equipment at Lincoln Greens Golf Course has been identified.

Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon said Daniel Crumrine, 51, of Springfield, was transported by EMS to HSHS St. John’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:24 a.m. shortly after arriving at the emergency room.

An autopsy was conducted on Friday, and preliminary findings show Crumrine died from crush injuries after being found under a lawn tractor.

The death remains under investigation by Springfield Park District Police and the Sangamon County Coroner’s Office.

In a statement, the Springfield Park District said it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the incident, adding that its thoughts and prayers are with Crumrine’s family.
