Crime Stoppers: Crime of the Week

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspects involved in a residential burglary, theft, and criminal damage that took place on April 2nd, in the 3400 block of E Carpenter Street. The incident occurred around 6:15 p.m. when the homeowner arrived home and saw a white Chevrolet Malibu parked in their driveway. As the homeowner approached, a male subject jumped the fence while the vehicle began to drive away. The driver of the vehicle stopped briefly to allow the other male to get in, and then they left the area.


During the burglary, the suspects caused $400 in damage and stole $400 worth of items from the home. The Springfield Police Department has released a photo of the suspect vehicle and one of the suspects on cashfortips.us, a website dedicated to anonymous tips.


If anyone has any information regarding the suspects' identities or whereabouts, they are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 217-788-8427, submit a tip on their website, or use the P3 mobile app. Those who provide information leading to an arrest could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2500.
