Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s assistance in helping the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office identify a suspect connected to a burglary and criminal damage investigation in Springfield.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on February 21, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m. at 217 Comics and Games, located at 1820 Stevenson Drive.
Investigators report that a Black male with a beard, wearing a stocking cap, forced entry into the business. Surveillance video shows the suspect throwing a concrete block through the glass front door to gain access. Once inside, the suspect attempted to steal the cash register before fleeing the area on foot, heading east toward Stanton Avenue.
