Crime Stoppers: Crime of the Week

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying a woman suspected of stealing merchandise from a Springfield Walmart earlier this month.

The theft occurred July 12 at the Walmart located at 2760 N. Dirksen Parkway. Police said a Black woman wearing a blue shirt and shorts entered the store and selected a large amount of merchandise.

The woman placed the items in a shopping cart as she walked through the store before leaving the business without paying. She then fled the area.

Anyone who can identify the woman or has information about the theft is asked to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 217-788-8427, submit a tip through cashfortips.us or use the P3 Tips app.

Tips that lead to an arrest could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,500. Remember, Crime Stoppers only wants your information, not your name.
