The Frank and Linda Vala Dream Center of Sangamon County has announced a major boost in its efforts to empower students and families, thanks to two generous $50,000 donations from prominent local philanthropists, Dick Levi and Frank Vala. These contributions will support the Center’s mission of fostering learning, creativity, and growth within the community.
“We are grateful to Dick Levi and Frank Vala for their incredible generosity,” said Sara Schafer, Operations Officer of the Frank and Linda Vala Dream Center. “Their support is a testament to the importance of our mission and will allow us to continue offering unique, transformative opportunities to our community’s youth and adults.”
A Hub for Learning and Growth

Diversity: Creating an inclusive space where students from all walks of life can thrive together.
Recreation: Offering activities that promote physical health and engagement.
Education: Providing tutoring, a Homeschool Academy, and educational enrichment to help students reach their full potential.
Arts: Fostering creativity through visual arts programs, with plans to introduce music classes soon.
Mentoring: Guiding students with one-on-one mentorship to develop leadership skills and positive relationships.
Expanding Opportunities
The combined $100,000 donation will enable the Dream Center to broaden its offerings, including the introduction of new programs like robotics and additional resources for students and families. By enhancing its focus on integrated learning experiences, the Center seeks to equip young people with both academic and life skills.
