Sunday morning, Sangamon County Central Dispatch received a 911 call of an overturned truck in the 12700 block of Pawnee Road. On arrival, Deputies located one male occupant partially ejected from the 2007 GMC truck.

American Ambulance and Pawnee EMS arrived on the scene and pronounced the male subject deceased. SCSO’s initial investigation indicates the truck was northbound, left the roadway on the east side of the road, and hit a culvert, causing the vehicle to flip. The airbag was deployed, and it appears at this time that the seatbelt was not utilized.

Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon confirmed the death of a 29-year-old and has identified the man as Sean Donahue of Springfield. An autopsy has been done and preliminary findings suggest Mr. Donahue died from multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Sangamon County Coroner and the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office.
