Springfield residents will have an opportunity to speak directly with city officials next month as the City of Springfield continues its series of community engagement events designed to connect local government with neighborhoods across the city. A Springfield Community Connection event is scheduled for Thursday, March 19, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Scheels Sports Park Springfield Clinic Dome, located at 3751 Imagineer Drive.
The event is part of an ongoing initiative by Mayor Misty Buscher’s administration aimed at providing residents with more accessible opportunities to interact with city leadership. These gatherings are structured to allow residents to meet with the mayor, their alderperson, and senior staff members representing several city departments in a more personal setting.
During the session, residents will be able to speak one-on-one with representatives from various city agencies and obtain information about services and resources available through the city. The goal of the program is to give residents a chance to ask questions, discuss concerns affecting their neighborhoods, and learn more about city programs and initiatives.
The upcoming meeting will focus on Ward 6 and will be hosted in partnership with Ward 6 Alderwoman Jennifer Notariano. Residents of the ward are encouraged to attend and take advantage of the opportunity to meet department leaders and stay informed about issues affecting their community. Informational materials will also be available for those who wish to learn more about city services or remain engaged after the event concludes.
City officials say the Springfield Community Connections series reflects the administration’s commitment to maintaining open communication with residents and ensuring that local government remains accessible and responsive. Additional events are expected to be announced in the future, each focusing on different wards throughout the city.
Residents who are unsure which ward they live in can check their address using the ward map available on the City of Springfield’s website.
