Meet Rolo: This Week’s Adoptable Pet

This week, meet Rolo.

Rolo is an approximately 9-month-old Labrador Retriever mix looking for a new family to call his own. The medium-sized male dog has a short reddish-brown and black coat and is currently available for adoption through the Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center.

Rolo is vaccinated and is listed as having no special needs. He has not yet been neutered, and his compatibility with children, dogs, cats and other animals is currently unknown. Those interested in adopting him can contact Sangamon County Animal Control to learn more about his personality, ask questions and determine whether he might be a good fit for their home.

Rolo is one of several dogs and cats currently waiting for homes at the Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center.

Animals adopted through the center are vaccinated, spayed or neutered and microchipped before adoption. Dog adoptions also typically include a rabies vaccination, registration, routine vaccinations and worming. Dogs older than six months are tested for heartworm.

Eligible animals are adopted on a first-come, first-served basis after they have been cleared by the center’s veterinarian for adoption.

Anyone interested in meeting or adopting Rolo can visit the Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center at 2100 Shale Road in Springfield. The center is open from 10:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Adoption services end 15 minutes before the facility closes.

Prospective adopters can also contact Sangamon County Animal Control at 217-535-3065 for information about Rolo or the adoption process. Those interested in Rolo can also view his profile and submit an adoption inquiry through his Petfinder listing.
